HELLSPAWN i001
There are currently three official figures:

October 2003 Series 24 Original: Hellspawn i001
Series 24 is the first series to be based entirely on the Art of Spawn. Released in October 2003, it is titled 'The Classic Comic Cover Art'.
And this is the cover art that he is adapted from - the first issue of Hellspawn released in August 2000. This issue is penned by Brian Michael Bendis and illustrated by Ashley Wood. It is the first figure of the Art of Hellspawn Collection.
Art of Hellspawn Collection
This sub-collection group comprise of figures that are direct adaptation from or interpretation of the arts of Ashley Wood and Ben Templesmith seen in Hellspawn and they include Hellspawn i001, Hellspawn i005, Hellspawn i011 (aka Raven Hellspawn 2), Raven Spawn (aka Hellspawn i007) and Nightmare Spawn (aka Hellspawn i015).
No difference if you do not remove the figure from the package as there is no articulation in this figure...
...but of course you would not get to see the back of the figure or how slim this figure is without the cape.

THE CUSTOM
The figure was silver-washed and distributed among a small group of collectors.
THE MINIATURES
The miniatures that appeared in October 2007 as part of Trading Series 2 has this figure in paints not associated with the original. They are also titled slightly differently from the original.
September 2007 Trading Series 2 Original: Spawn HS Issue 1
The original miniature figure is attired in its black suit as opposed to the stylised version adopted from the cover art.
September 2007 Trading Series 2 Variant: Spawn HS Issue 1
The variant is not an accurate rendition of the original figure either; it looks more like a brown suit.
