For card and display collectors alike, there are 3 official versions:

Based on the cover of Spawn monthly comics #7 “Payback II” illustrated by Todd McFarlane and published in January 1993.

Almost 11 years later, the Spawn on issue 7 was to be transformed into a collectible figure.


September 2004 Series 26 Original: Spawn issue 7 cover art
The regular-sized figure of 6" was released in September 2004 as part of Series 26: The Art of Spawn. The title of Series 26 is a rebranding of the previous two “Classic Comic Cover” series of 24 and 25.

The head sculpt is pretty fierce looking and a nice departure from the usual expressionless headsculpt.

and the result is an impressive "action" figure...seriously, MT should remove the word "action" from its label, only 8-yr old play with their toys.

April 2007 MTCC Exclusive Repaint: Spawn issue 7 cover art
The eagerly awaited MTCC Exclusive, darn, those shipping costs are criminal.

Horrendous shipping asides, the repainted i.7 is a more accurate representation of the cover.
