Based on the cover of issue 98 “The Trouble with Angels” drawn by Danny Miki, Greg Capullo and Todd McFarlane and published in August 2000. This is a very popular pose, the picture at the top for example is from issue #57.
October 2003 MTCC Series 24 Exclusive: Spawn i.98
Released as a Series 24 MTCC Exclusive in late October 2003, this figure was one of most eagerly anticipated and fastest selling exclusive ever, something like 25,000 figures gone in 6 days!
There is the usual fantastic cape that we gradually takes for granted.
The brochure in the pack reveals a masked Spawn figure while the version released has a head similar to Spawn i088
And this is how he should be.
Which would you rather have?
Spawn i098 is very similar to Spawn: Image 10th Anniversary (Image Spawn). Both possessed unusual articulation and both have long limbs. Spawn i098 is painted in an all black suit while Image Spawn has the traditional suit found in Spawn 1's figure.
If Spawn i098 is sold in retail, collectors would be rewarded with a masked version as the Spawn i088 in the middle.
