February 2004 Series 25 Original: Spawn HSI.005
Following the phenomenal success of Series 24, a sequel 'Classic Comic Cover Art II' was only natural. Introducing Series 25 in February 2004. The notation makes a change from Hellspawn i001 (name of book and issue number) to Spawn HSI.005 (name of figure, acronym of the book and issue number). Spawn HSI.005 or Hellspawn i005, he is the first of two figures based on Hellspawn released in Series 25.
Based on the cover of Hellspawn issue #5 published in January 2001 and illustrated by Ashley Wood. #5 marks the transition where Bendis hands over the writings to Steve Niles whom many critics felt did a better job than his predecessor.
Art of Hellspawn Collection
This sub-collection group comprise of figures that are direct adaptation from or interpretation of the arts of Ashley Wood and Ben Templesmith seen in Hellspawn and they include Hellspawn i001, Hellspawn i005, Hellspawn i011 (aka Raven Hellspawn 2), Raven Spawn (aka Hellspawn i007) and Nightmare Spawn (aka Hellspawn i015).
