January 1995 Series 1 Repaint: Spawn
The repainted edition of Series 1. The only "repaint" is that he is now without a mask - gaining notoriety as 'Hamburger Head'; Chinese websites rather appropriately nicknamed him 'Rotten Face'!
January 1995 Series 1 Repaint: Medieval Spawn
Medieval Spawn on the other hand received a "real" repaint, having its suit painted black instead of blue.
February 1995 Series 2 Original Commando Spawn
End Cap of December 1996 mentioned date of release as Spring 1995. There are a considerable number of unintentional variants as regards the paint condition of the weapons.
February 1995 Series 2 Original: Pilot Spawn

May 1995 Series 2 Repaint: Commando Spawn
Commando Spawn 1v2 is an exact duplicate of Commando Spawn 1v1. The difference is in the accessories. There are rumours (can staff's verification be considered a rumour) that there is a gold-washed Commando Spawn released as a Retail Exclusive in July 1997.

May 1995 Series 2 Repaint: Pilot Spawn
Pilot Spawn is all decked out in white, earning the nickname of 'Astronaut Spawn'.
July 1995 Spawn the Game
This Pressman Toys board game known as “Spawn: The Game” contains four miniature silver-washed Spawn figures: Spawn, Medieval Spawn, Commando Spawn and Pilot Spawn. Spawn and Medieval Spawn are original figures while Commando Spawn and Pilot Spawn are replicas of existing figures. July incidentally is a “guesstimated” date. I wrote to Pressman Toys but they could not recall the date of release either.

August 1995 Retail Exclusive: Commando Spawn
This jungle-camouflage edition was released about half a year after Series 2. It appeared again in late 1998 with a DVD of Spawn animated series season 2 attached to it. That many collectors (including myself) regard this as solely a Japanese limited edition is incorrect.
August 1995 Series 3 Original: Spawn II
Series 3 has several very interesting Spawns. There is the first re-appearance of Spawn, titled as 'Spawn II'. Besides the distinctive half-mask (gosh, it reminds me of Spider-Man comics) and maroon cape, Spawn is adorned in an all black suit, which became de rigeur for all subsequent Spawn figures for nearly seven years until the re-emergence of the red-ribcage Spawn under Image 10th Anniversary Special in December 2002.
August 1995 Series 3 Original: Ninja Spawn
First appearance of Spawns other than Al Simmons. Ninja Spawn is also the first appearance of a Japanese-theme based Spawn and he has a stitched-up face ala Spawn in Series 1 Repainted Edition. Spawn readers would know the history for the stitching but seriously, shoelace in medieval Japan?
August 1995 Series 3 Playset: Spawn Air Cycle

October 1995 Retail Exclusive: Medieval Spawn
A very unique figure in the early days of spawn collection considering that the original Spawn was never re-washed in pewter/silver. This figure was released in the US by Puzzle Zoo and Venture.
November 1995 Retail Exclusive: Commando Spawn vs Violator
There are two Collectors Gift Sets released in the same period. The first is a Commando Spawn & Violator Two-Pack sold exclusively by Target Store in the US. Both featured replicas of existing Spawn figures with a giant companion opponent. Official correspondence with McFarlane Toys stated that both are released in late 1995. End Cap in February 1997 however mentioned the release as December of 1995 and Fall of 1995 respectively for the two sets.
November 1995 Retail Exclusive: Medieval Spawn vs Malebolgia
The second collectible gift set is a Medieval Spawn & Malebolgia Two-Pack by K-Mart and also available only in the US. As with that of Commando Spawn vs Violator, the Medieval Spawn featured here are simply duplicates. Display collectors be forewarned.

In the US, this is a KB Toys Exclusive. This Collectible Figures Set features a very statuesque miniaturised Spawn with his nemesis Violator. Official site titled this set as a Spawn and Violator Two-Pack. Lee’s #92 stated that this set also appeared in the 1996 Toy Fair.

Above is a 6-Pack released widely among retail and warehouse chains in the US, e.g. Costco, Sam's Club and Warehouse Club. This is not the only 6-Pack version, there are variations containing other figures. The release dates are DEFINITELY after the official appearance of the respective figures and not before as claimed by some re-sellers. Image taken from eBay.
