Hunter R managed to dig out this 2006 image of Spawn 2 taken by Jay Han. See more of them in Flickr.

Noticed that "half-mask head" is again in fashion

More update in the Market link. Meanwhile, check this Mugg which is on sale at RocketBoy Customs Blog.

Ryan has also made available all his Spawn customs in the Creators' Portfolio. The link and contact are in Rocket Boy Creations.

Manga SpawnOne of my colleague walks into my office and start rambling about the upcoming holidays when she noticed my Spawn figures. She said "oh transformer".

Update on the Trading PostWell, I am not sure if adding a trading post would work but there is an update. Hope it helps.

A Trading PostWell, I don't really like it but it is part and parcel of a collector's journey. I finally agree to put up a market place for collectors who intend to trade. Its just above you next to Home and About. The first trader is Sanjiv and he intends to let go a substantial portion of his collection. Not all, mind you but stil substantial.

And Spawn #200 is upon us. I know, I know, pretty anti-climatic. My current bedtime readings are The Kindly Ones by Jonathan Littel and Harbour by John Ajvide Lindqvist. And after a heavy dose of the kindly ones, it is nice to enjoy graphic images from a reading source of an entirely different medium. That's how I read my comics - I digest the illustrations, marvel at it before absorbing those word balloon. It would be nice to have a more readable Spawn but Spawn is like Liverpool FC, you support it and it drives you crazy. You ask yourself why are you still supporting it, a club that drives you bonker. But you know the answer - in a perverse way, you enjoy the suffering and you tell yourself suffering builds character. And there is only glory, no disappointment because the only way is up. You trust McFarlane as you trust the owners of the Boston Red Sox to revive their entities, you hope and believe in the owners, that they are people with perseverance, that these are owners who would not abandon their project, pet or otherwise. So, to the era of Szymon Kudranski and Will Carlton, good luck.

Hunter R has compiled a list of Spawn #200 covers, they are here: Spawn Comics in 2011

Wishes All Citizens of Spawndom a Happy New Year

Tomorrow is the BIG day, more updates - 6 more pages. Thanks for the assist, Batboy 13.

It's wonderful to have guest bloggers - from batboy 13's email that I opened up on a beautiful sunday morning (that makes my sunday even more lovely) are five pages of Spawn #200. And what a sight that would send distress to obsessive fans like us, the second death of so many spawns! And I have never get to list them down!

Boss, if you are reading this, I definitely need to run down to the comics shop on the 12th to grab my Spawn #200.

Collectors of spawn covers are going to love this: TEN issues of #200.

Happy new year, guys, start the year off with a difference. Never did bother myself with 3D character art but it is a new year! And to apply G.K.Chesterton's idea, "with new year comes a new soul". So, check out the 3D image by 'z_x_c_m_a_n' for the 2010 Comicon Challenge in the gameartisans web. It didn't end up among the Top 36 which is a shame, kelong I said! (kelong = in local parlance it means match-fixing). Would be nice if this is a 3D figure.

And on the 6th day, 'lawc' wrote to me, "great photo galleries of toys, including spawn, intereting lighting and backdrop effects". Yes, do check out this mcfarlane and spawn gallery by 'ed speir iv', skip those non-spawn toys like halo and the viewing pleasure would be complete: Ed Speir IV at pbase.

On the 5th Day of Christmas comes A Dunny by Trex! This is a commissioned 3" Dunny with a beautiful cape. For a 3" figure, it contains a lot of detailed work. The cape rises straight up reminiscent of marilyn monroe...maybe trex can consider a white version instead, haha. Trex spent a lot of time creating the cape and you can see more of his designs in : The Making of Dunny Spawn by Trex. For more of Trex, see Trex's Creations.

Beautiful Spawn Mask for Paintball, Hockey (Field and Ice)...etc - only US$99! The description started off wonderfully and then it starts to taper down to a very sad pronouncement that Spawn comics drop below the Top 100, sigh. More uplifting moments required - "Spawn Mask - Not for Fair Weather Fan". The mask is available at collectibles-articles.com

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Thanks to Hunter R for the montage...you can sense that he is pretty excited about #200 too, haha!

Hunter R found this Raven Spawn gold edition in actoys.net, don't bother writing if this is real, 'nuf said, haha.

Haven't visit Jarold's blog for a while, revisited it today after a reminder from Hunter R. Promising stuff eh.

From LawC who refer me to David Silva's work in entertainment.webshots.com..."Neat album with really good spawn drawings. Awesome cyber2 on page 1 and really radical Mandy on page 4. Enjoy."

More of David Silva's designs in creative-beast.com and his interview in figures.com.

And thank you kind Sir for your email, yes, Mr Silva, there are still Spawn fans around. We are a pretty dedicated lot.

Mmmmm, a shadow collection, wonderful stuff, check out sykogrl's spawn family in Kidrobot Board.

The sculptor who did that is Alex Heinke. Read more about him in figures.com.

Digital painting of Spawn by Joey Wu.

Interview with Brian Fay in figures.com There is an error in the introductory column of the article though, Fay is the sculptor of Poacher, not Poucher.

Stanly-Dan (aka Daniel Mead) has quite an extensive collection of comic wedgie characters. Both Hunter R and I have reviewed all the characters very thoroughly and declared that Spawn is our favourite! More of Stanly-Dan comic wedgie characters in The Design Inspiration.
